Figure Id may as well make one here. I dont get much love on the other site, maybe you guys will enjoy it.
Here is a summary to get it up to date.

After a rough winter as a daily it was time to say goodbye to this:



I was sad, but soon rejoiced at the site of this:



Sitting in a field for 30+ years, she was a bit neglected




But soon she started to smile, as progress was made



I swapped my 1641 and trans from my 67 over to the 68, and had her driving for the end of the summer and into winter.



Just recently she was introduced to forced induction:



And that pretty much brings it up to date. I have a few small things left to do to feel comfortable with the setup. I just installed my wideband, and hope to have a tach and wastegate on this weekend.

Future plans are: perfect the turbo setup and eventually have 12-15 psi out of the rajay b25 and have it all under the decklid.
After that I plan on pie-cutting the pan head, which will allow me to be just as low and have better suspension geometry and more clearance. After that I'm not really sure, I really have a desire to build a stupid low bug or ghia with a subaru ej22, with a trans raise, no2 setup, and blah blah blah.

I will keep this updated and I plan on making a real quick vid next time its warm.

How does the air cooled motors like boost?

loves it! As long as detonation is kept in check and temps dont get out of hand. A dude on Thesamba made 150hp out of a completely stock single port 1600. Mine is a not stock dual port 1641, so I think I can be near that very easily. 150 hp doesnt sound like much, but considering it had 55hp stock and weighs like 1700lbs, it should move pretty good.

Im not too concerned with total power at this point, I have like 1/2 inch of ground clearance at the lowest point, so its rare I can actually open it up. No matter what its faster than it was! Pretty stoked to run it in sturgis this spring tho.

I'm totally down. Friend of mine was going to take some pics but hes a bit of a flake so who knows when that will happen. I've been driving it here and there. Just being nice until I get my distributor recurved and wastegate on. I took a quick vid today, but I was by myself so just a idle/rev vid. For some reason my labtop doesnt recognize the videos from my shitty video camera. Maybe I can get my wife to figure it out...

yea I tried to, for some reason my computer only recognizes the videos as mp3 files, so sound but no video. I have no idea. My wife's computer does it fine, so I will have her transfer the files then send them to me. I wouldnt even bother and just make a new video, but looks like its going to be cold for awhile so I dont see the bug getting much love. I did get my wastegate today, so I may try to get that in this weekend.

got it pulled apart and got the wastegate flange welded on. Started getting a bit chilly in the garage so called it a night. I hope to get it done tomorrow. Need to paint, wrap the up pipe and figure out a dump tube. I may build a better downpipe for the turbo if everything goes smoothly. I have some 3 in exhaust laying around so If I feel motivated it may get done. Also test fitted my deck lid and it wont clear without stand offs, so that sucks. Oh well.

Little more progress.
finally got to actually drive it like its meant to be driven. Its not fast but defiantly a handful. Im used to driving slammed cars, just not ones that can actually accelerate at a decent pace. Its a bit leaner than Id like so I need to track down some jets. I may end up pie cutting the pan head sooner than later. AND just MAYBE raising the ass end up a bit. Id rather not but its a bit sketchy to be breaking loose in this car.

ha. I dont see that happening. Im pretty stoked for street legals tho. It wont be fast, but I dont care.

I got a bigger main jet from my step-dad, he has lots of random stuff from his years of being a mechanic and Harley shop owner. It all just sits now so I was pretty happy he actually knew where the jet was! lol
Lots better at WOT, just needs a bit of mid range tuning.

Im tempted to start the pie cut asap,would be nice to have it all done and finished before spring.

No updates, started a new job so Ive been working longer hours, for less pay. Dont ya just love that! ha.
Im still undecided if Im going to start the pie cut or wait. Trying to buy a new house soon and also wanting to build my landcruiser, so I dont want too much going on. I also have my squareback I need to button up.... too much to do. Im sure once it warms up and I can drive the bug a bit, I will be more motivated to work on it.

well, havent messed with the bug much. Was sick as shit for like 2 weeks, then the last couple weekends Ive been working on my land cruiser.

I sold off the square a couple weeks ago, so I have more room to work in the garage.

Started playing with the ride height last night, Im lifting the rear for sure, at least for now. Ill post a pic if I get a chance.
