I have. It makes perfect sense, but for some reason, I just cant get behind it. Maybe down the road my preferences will change, but for now Im a static sorta guy.
I think my plans are to get this one at a moderate height and enjoy it. I will either build another slammed vw for a cruiser and keep this one more at a "cal look" stance, or go back to my original plans: trans raise and pie cut this one.
Maybe I should look into it, Im sure I could source some bags and build it pretty cheaply.

thinking about pulling the turbo setup. I really miss driving this thing and it needs a bit of tinkering right now. Im pretty pressed for free time, so wondering if putting it back to a daily makes more sense for the time being. Makes me think I need another one just to play with and not be concerned with driving it once every few weeks.
I did take it for a spin today, I think I have a boost leak, I cant feel it spooling until like 3500+. does feel pretty good towards 5k tho. Also considering buying a new beam. I cant get mine to adjust at all, its sitting as if the adjusters are completely gone. Not sure If I care enough to pull it apart.

put a couple hours in on the bug. Now at monster truck status! Not too bad actually, just a big difference from where it was. Swapped out the wastegate for the hell of it, just to see if it was leaking through. Felt better with the new one, but still isnt building boost like it should. Hopefully I can make time tomorrow to grab the fittings I need to hook up my boost gauge.
Its a hell of a lot of fun at about 5k rpm though.
I really hope to have this thing 100% by the first street legals.

bought a pile of parts for this thing. Nothing real exciting just some small things it needs. I have some stand-offs coming, I can hopefully get the deck lid deal sorted soon.
considering buying a '65 from a guy. Hell of a deal and I miss having a slammed daily. I think the wife is on board, just not sure I need 2 bugs.

everything automotive is pretty much at a stand still until we get our house situation sorted. Had a full price offer on our house today (2nd day on the market), so need to get our asses in gear and find a new place. Pretty much every moment Im not working, Im either looking at houses or talking to the real estate agent, etc.
hopefully Im not crazy broke after this whole deal, and can pick one up. Id love to have that fastback that was posted on 605.

Under contract on both my current house and the new one, so I can play around with the bug now that things are a bit less stressful. Put on a cheapy traction bar, much better for doing burnouts! Mocked together a new downpipe with shit I had laying around. Then ran out of welding wire.   sweet pics I know! |

Played around with my extra decklid. even with standoffs I had to cut a big ass hole. Not sure what to do. I think a big bulge would look super goofy, IDk, maybe no decklid for now and eventually move the wastegate. Any Ideas?    |

Where is your old house at that you were selling? We have been looking at houses for a while and were planning to put an offer in on one today but that kind of fell through until later this week it looks like. The games in real estate are kinda crazy.

over in robinsdale on east meade. It was on the market for less then 2 days and we got a full price offer. And ya, real estate is nuts. A hole lot of BS. Seems like anything that is decent is gone almost immediately, the house we are buying was only for sale for 3 days when we jumped on it.
I really like our agent, Id highly recommend her If you need someone.
